US Gun Statistics

Each year in the US there are 30,000 gun deaths and 400,000 gun assaults.

If you own a gun you're 22 times more likely to shoot a family member than an intruder.

I don't care what the NRA says.

Guns kill people.

Often good innocent people.

And good animals, too.

End of story.

Early Evening Cowboy

As you may have heard, staunch conservative actor Jon Voight recently emceed a GOP dinner fundraiser, remarking that “We are becoming a weak nation…Republicans need to find their way back to power to free the nation from 'this Obama oppression'.” He also referred to President Obama as a “false prophet.”

What the news failed to report is that the actor really was there to promote his season playing the evil Jonas on "24," which will be available for sale on DVD starting July 4th.

Well come on, he's gotta raise monies somehow to buy birthday gifts for all those grandkids of his, no?

Jussayin ;-)

Tiananmen, 20 Years Later

Some call it the "Tiananmen Square Massacre," others say the "Tiananmen Square Crackdown," and in China it is known merely as an "incident," the "June 4th Incident," or as the Chinese say, "liù-sì shìjiàn" (六四事件).

No matter how you refer to the 1989 democracy protests in Beijing and the brutal response by China's military, on Thursday, June 4th, the world marks the event's 20th anniversary...

Just a few of the things I wish I could do...

Build airplanes out of the same indestructible material as the "black box."
End the human massacres in Darfur, Sri Lanka, and more.
Banish ridiculous reality TV shows from the networks.
Ensure that no child is left behind.
Prove to suicide bomber terrorists there is a more humane way to make a point.
Take Rush Limbaugh off the radio.
